AcoustiCafe Open Stage
MONDAY MARCH 9, 2026 - WYEP 91.3 and Straub Brewing Presents: AcoustiCafe Open Stage with host Autumn Ayers featuring Joshua Tarquinio!!
Theme. Character Studies!
Autumn writes: Perform a piece that is "in character" or out-of-character; think about the content of YOUR character or ... the character of your content ...
JOSHUA TARQUINIO Hailing originally from the planet Oswego in a fairly quiet corner of the Quadrophenia Dimension (nobody expects you to have heard of it), Joshua Tarquinio is technically human and currently resides in Hopewell Township, two exits further down the highway than any of you is willing to drive, where he subsists on berries and varmints brought to him by his faithful black cat, Edgar Allan Rickman, and meditates upon the meaning of things like streams and leaves before encoding them all English-like in an attempt to make himself understood to actual humans via the most roundabout way of saying what you mean ever—
poetry.
SNOWBALLS of LOVE: Everyone is asked to support the artists you enjoy by throwing Snowballs of Love at the stage (in addition to applause) to show how much you love your friends on stage. Plus it looks cool on the livestream - which happens thanks to the equally cool Wes Mason Media!
COMPLIMENTS aka MMHMMs
We loved this idea so much last week when Amy Mmhmm introduced it, we just want to keep it going - We will also have a compliment box where you can drop handwritten compliments and they will be delivered to performers through the evening! Think of it as a single, well-aimed SNOWBALL OF LOVE
An example: "We are delighted beyond words by Autumn's use of a semicolon in her Theme description"
