Mr. Smalls Presents
Come see a spectacular performance of the 2024 We Rock Academy, a free recording and performance workshop for youth who have a history of, or are currently receiving CYF services, led by Liz Berlin of the multi-platinum Pittsburgh band Rusted Root and sponsored by the Allegheny County Department of Human Services.
We Rock Academy students explore the creation of music and learn meaningful ways to incorporate music into their lives through weekly in-person professional recording sessions where participants collaborate to create original songs, as well as private lessons in vocal coaching, songwriting, recording, beat making, and song production.
The incredible talent and hard work of our amazing students will be showcased at the We Rock Workshop Album Drop Celebration on April 22nd, 2022, at Mr. Smalls Theatre in Millvale, PA. You will hear brand new original music performed live, as well as special appearances by Liz Berlin (of the triple-platinum band Rusted Root), cosmic jazz chanteuse Phat Man Dee, and legendary Pittsburgh MC’s Big Jus and Deezil Money!
And as if that wasn’t enough there will also be free food and beverages at this all ages event!
