Formed in the fall of 2015, Old Soles and Seedy Players are one of Pittsburgh’s most promising up and coming bands. Founded by multi-instrumentalist Dan Styslinger (Delicious Pastries, Anello), OSSP is a 7-piece Psychedelic Soul outfit featuring Frank DiDiano (guitar), Colton Sankey (bass), James Held (drums), Bob Kircher (trumpet), Rick Firestone (alto saxophone), and Tanner Davis (tenor saxophone) – songs that feature lush jazz chords mixed with psychedelic tinged synthesizer motifs
What do you get when you cross a punk rocker from Belfast, Northern Ireland with a indie-folkster from Pittsburgh? The powerful indie rock ensemble The Local, whose combination of punk rock influences, infused with sweeping operatic arrangements resemble something producer Brian McTear (War on Drugs, Strand of Oaks, Matt Pond PA, Local Natives) lovingly describes as My Bloody Valentine meets Ennio Morricone.
Bikini Islands is a Pittsburgh based rock group consisting of vocalist and guitarist Kyle Wacker, lead guitarist Jeff Leichter, bassist Josh Cortina, and drummer and vocalist Eric Neugebauer. Slinging surfy rock licks and pop hooks sure to be stuck in your head for weeks, this quartet prides itself on a raw live performance that has as much energy as it does smarts. From gleaming vocal harmonies to dirty garage rock guitars, there’s something about their sound that everyone can enjoy. Bikini Islands released their debut self titled album in February 2017.
