Sun 02/14 Never Shout Never with special guests Metro Station, Jule Vera, Waterparks, Get The Picture 6:30pm All Ages
Youth, as they say, is wasted on the young. Christofer Drew kindly refutes that conceit. At the ripe age of 24, Drew and his band Never Shout Never recently released their seventh full-length album (not including a pair of EP’s!). A songwriter to be reckoned with since he was 16, Drew’s trajectory as a lyricist and tunesmith only rises, evolving steadily with each new release, as does his empire of fans. Tackling heavy subjects like truth, love, loss, and acceptance, he has developed a genuine talent for exploring the human condition from a place of positivity. And with the 10 crack cuts collected here on Black Cat, it’s not a stretch to label Drew a master of his craft, despite the fact that he still can’t legally rent a car. | example: Purchase Tickets Online | 866-468-3401 | Reserve Balcony | Local Outlets
Fri 02/19 Skate Maloley on his first nationwide tour with Derek Luh. Also performing, EJAAZ 6:15pm All Ages
Skate (Nate Maloley) has always had a passion for sports and hip hop music. He grew up loving all sports and kept himself busy participating in any sporting activity he could, while still exploring hip hop music. Legit on the court, Skate went on to play basketball in college for a year, but as the year went on his focus and passion began to turn towards his music. Born in Omaha Nebraska, family has always been a big part of his Lebanese heritage. Skate's siblings (Kaylan & Stewart), along with his mother and father (Kami & Monte) have all been big supporters of his goals and efforts. During the summer of 2014 Skate had the opportunity to create some great music for a rapidly growing fan base. He then began working and creating songs with Sammy Wilk, a close high school friend. In August of 2014 Skate was asked to travel with the "Jack & Jack Digitour" to perform several of his and Sammy's new songs. From there, his fans began to write the rest of his beginning. As Skate's movement continues forward the more music he writes and publishes the stronger his passion for making music becomes. Music is now Skate's life and he is pouring his heart and soul into it. Skate has released 4 songs on iTunes; "Nothin to a King," "Signs" featuring a close friend Ty Alaxandar, "Party People" and the Jack & Jack track "Like That," featuring Skate. | Purchase Tickets Online

Sun 02/21 Born of Osiris - Sumerian Records 10 Year Tour with special guests Veil of Maya, After The Burial, Erra, Bad Omens 7:00pm All Ages
Many religions, cultures, and stories attribute power to the number three. In Egyptian mythology, it symbolizes plurality, and “triads” of deities comprise a complete system. It’s no surprise that the god Osiris was born to one such triad alongside siblings Horus and Isis. It’s also not a coincidence that Chicago heavy metal quintet Born Of Osiris found a similar significance within that number on their fifth full-length album, Soul Sphere [Sumerian Records]. In fact, over the course of 12 tracks, the record examines three tiers originally uncovered in a dream that Joe Buras [clean vocals, synthesizers, keyboards] shared. “The whole story of the record involves three levels,” explains Joe. “The first one is The Binding. You’re hanging, and you’re stagnant. The second is The Fight. You were hanging, but now you’re pulling away from this linchpin, whether it’s physical, emotional, or spiritual. The final is The Release. You break away and feel free, connected, and loved.” | Purchase Tickets Online | 866-468-3401 | Reserve Balcony | Local Outlets
Mon 02/22 91.3 WYEP presents Kurt Vile and The Violators with special guests Xylouris White 8:00pm All Ages
Kurt does his own myth making; a boy/man with an old soul voice in the age of digital everything becoming something else, which is why this focused, brilliantly clear and seemingly candid record is a breath of fresh air. Recorded and mixed in a number of locations, including Los Angeles and Joshua Tree, b’lieve i’m goin down… is a handshake across the country, east to west coast, thru the dustbowl history (“valley of ashes”) of woody honest strait forward talk guthrie, and a cali canyon dead still nite floating in a nearly waterless landscape. The record is all air, weightless, bodyless, but grounded in convincing authenticity, in the best version of singer songwriter upcycling. In Kurt’s words, “I wanted to get back into the habit of writing a sad song on my couch, with nobody waiting on me. I really wanted it to sound like it’s on my couch — not in a lo-fi way, just more unguarded and vulnerable.” | Purchase Tickets Online | 866-468-3401 | Reserve Balcony | Local Outlets

Sun 02/28 91.3 WYEP presents Neko Case with special guest Jennifer O'Connor 8:00pm All Ages
Neko Case was playing and touring with bands for a decade before she realized it was her job. "Music was, and is, my obsession, but I guess I couldnt see the forest through the trees," she writes from her farmhouse in Vermont, reflecting on early periods of touring with several bands so regularly that she had to quit every other job she had. "I also didnt feel worthy of calling myself a 'musician.' It was just too sacred." Now more than 20 years into that calling, Neko Case is the consummate career artist--fearless and versatile, with a fierce work ethic and a constant drive to search deeper within herself for creative growth. Nowhere is that clearer than in Truckdriver, Gladiator, Mule, a stunning vinyl box set of Case's complete (so far) solo discography, available from Anti- on November 13. | Purchase Tickets Online | 866-468-3401 | Reserve Balcony | Local Outlets
