Sun 09/21 POSTPONED TO OCT 13 - OK Go [all 9/21 tix honored] 8:00pm All Ages
Of all the superlatives ever thrown at OK Go, “world’s most creative band” might fit best. Theirs is a project of the modern age, defined by vision as opposed to boundaries. It starts with a growing canon of infectious songs (the band’s fourth album is forthcoming), and explodes out from there into a million creative endeavors: their videos are art projects that the whole world sees; their live shows are immersive and surprising; their free time is invested in apps and op-eds and a host of other experiments that all fall under fun, ambitious, or just really cool to try.

Thu 09/25 St. Lucia: The Night Comes Again Tour with special guest Joywave 9:00pm All Ages
Originally from Johannesburg, South Africa, Jean-Philip Grobler grew up performing with the Drakensberg Boys Choir School, learning everything from Bach to minimalist opera. St. Lucia was born out of a moment in early 2010 when Grobler was looking to the past for inspiration. Growing frustrated with a rock project that was starting to feel forced, he delved back into the music that had first inspired him: Fleetwood Mac, Peter Gabriel, Madonna and other songs from his youth.

Sat 09/27 91.3 WYEP presents The Afghan Whigs with special guest Joseph Arthur 8:00pm All Ages
"Do to the Beast" is the first new album by The Afghan Whigs in over a decade and a half. Founded in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1988, the band has long stood out from its peers, with their savage, rapturous blend of hard rock, classic soul, and frontman Greg Dulli's searing obsessions. The new album serves as both a homecoming -- it marks their return to Sub Pop, for whom the Whigs were the first signing from outside the label's Northwest base -- and a glimpse into the future of one of the most acclaimed bands of the past thirty years.
