The Devil Wears Prada with special guests Oh No! The Afterlife, Maesion
8:00pm All Ages
In the first months of 2009, The Devil Wears Prada entered the studio with producer Joey Sturgis to record their third full length album and Ferret Music debut, With Roots Above and Branches Below. Alternative Press regarded the upcoming album one of the most anticipated albums of 2009. “With Roots and Above Branches Below is going to be much more mature, I know that’s cliché and it’s what everyone says, but we’ve really grown as songwriters.” Hranica commented. “It’s going to be a heavier record as a whole. There are songs on the new album that are heavier than anything we’ve ever written. Joey (Sturgis) was able to do a lot more with the album as well; you’ll find lots of orchestral add-ins on the record, the production quality on this record is really special.”

Sat 09/04 Nakturnal & Opus One Present The Distant Relatives Tour Featuring NAS and Damian 'Jr. Gong' Marley 9:00pm All Ages
NOW ALL AGES! What we're about to do right now is go back. Back to a time when rap's greatest hits were created in basement soundrooms, not corporate boardrooms. When dancehall and hip hop music was all about moving the crowd not "moving units." Before Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley and Nasty Nasir Jones first began trodding the long and winding "Road to Zion." The artists' first collaboration went so well that they decided to do a full album together, and that album is Distant Relatives.

Sun 09/05 Lindsay Rakers Band with special guests The Sparrows 8:00pm All Ages
Atlanta’s Lindsay Rakers Band makes folk rock music with the rough edges of alt country, the yearning soul of blues, and the wandering spirit of Americana. Pittsburgh native Rakers has been fronting bands since she was in high school... she moved southward for shorter winters, but she misses the rivers and bridges. Lindsay Rakers Band's contagious energy and broad appeal has gleaned comparisons ranging from Dave Matthews Band to Rilo Kiley to Sugarland. This speaks to the diversity of the members: an ex-metalhead, a Jersey punk, a former pop country star, a couple lovable indie nerds, and a second generation hippie. Their songs make good company on a drive, and their highly caffeinated shows draw you in and make you feel right at home. Gracing the mainstage at Dogwood Festival, Atlanta's premier folk rock arts festival in 2007 and 2009, and praised by music critics, Lindsay Rakers Band loves what they do and it shows.

Tue 09/21 Badfish, a Tribute to Sublime with special guests Scotty Don't, Full Service, Tropidelic 8:00pm All Ages
The phenomenon known as Sublime, arguably the most energetic, original and uniquely eclectic band to emerge from any scene, anywhere, ended with the untimely death of lead singer, guitarist and songwriter Brad Nowell in May of 1996. But encompassing the sense of place and purpose long associated with Sublime’s music, Badfish, a Tribute to Sublime continues to channel the spirit of Sublime with a fury not felt for some time. What separates Badfish from other tribute bands is that they have replicated Sublime’s essence, developing a scene and dedicated following most commonly reserved for label-driven, mainstream acts. Badfish make their mark on the audience by playing with the spirit of Sublime. They perform not as Sublime would have, or did, but as Badfish does!

Tue 09/28 Yeasayer with special guest Washed Out 8:00pm All Ages
Since the release of their critically acclaimed 2007 debut All Hour Cymbals, Yeasayer has been around the world and back again. While their first record was conceived in total artistic isolation, constant touring forced Yeasayer to finally engage with their contemporaries. Inspired by musicians hell-bent on sonic experimentation as well as those more comfortable in a pop context, Yeasayer find their domain spanning across the musical spectrum. Studied, road worn, and eager to begin phase two, Yeasayer retreated to upstate New York to begin work on their new album titled ODD BLOOD. If All Hour Cymbals was Yeasayer’s attempt at global and ambient cultural mash-up then ODD BLOOD takes place in an off-world colony sometime after the Singularity. Glimmering reverb haze is eschewed and replaced by a cavalcade of disorienting pitch effects and flickering ectoplasmic wisps. Instead of layered vocal harmonies the processed vocals congeal into blots and blobs of otherworldly chatter.

Thu 09/30 Saves The Day with special guests Big Hurry 7:30pm All Ages
Fast-forward to 2010, and Saves The Day is evolving once again. After the departure of long time member David Soloway in 2008, along with Mannuel Cerrero and Durijah Lang in 2009 (who left the band to focus on former group Glassjaw), Saves The Day hit the road rocking all their classic tunes with a brand new look. Arun Bali, Rodrigo Palma and Spencer Peterson, now join Conley to round out the Saves The Day lineup. It is with these new members that the band will record Daybreak. As Conley explains, “it makes sense that Daybreak features a new lineup, as thematically the album deals with coming back to Life with a renewed appreciation and attitude of perseverance and acceptance.”
